DIY: Agate is Great!

4:00:00 AM

Here we are again, the weekend is over and Monday has arrived. This weekend was a chill weekend at our house, but I did make some fun projects to spruce up the house a little bit. I wanted to spend this week talking about my favorite DIY projects. They're all really easy and super affordable, but the impact is really fun. Today, I have agate stones on my mind.

I've recently become crazy in love with the colorful agate stones. They're so fun and each one is unique! I picked some up at the Nashville Flea Market and had to make something out of them! They're just too cute to leave behind! I saw on Etsy that these bad boys were going for $30 a piece and I paid $10 for all 3. What a steal if you ask me! I decided to make these into magnets, because I have a weird love to fun magnets on the fridge. It was such an easy craft,  I figured I would share it with all of you!

Aren't they fun?!

First, you'll need slices of agate stones. You can find them online, at a flea market, a craft fair, or wherever! Any color that brings you joy will do just fine. Also, don't be afraid of different shapes and sizes. No two agate stones are alike. You'll need hot glue or super glue and magnets. I went to Walmart and found these, but Home Depot or Lowe's have a great selection of stronger magnets if your fridge requires more strength.

These magnets were only $3 for 10

The rest is pretty self-explanatory. Take the glue and flue the magnet into place. Make sure to pay attention to where you place the magnet, because the slices are generally see through. They aren't as fun if you can see the magnet clear as day through the stone.

The finished product is really fun and looks fab on the fridge. I would advise you to get a strong magnet, because if you slam the door too hard, you don't want them to fall and shatter. Shattered agate stone sounds like a nightmare. This SUPER easy DIY craft makes a great addition to the kitchen, but could also be a cool gift idea. I think they look awesome on our fridge and they bring a touch of color to the kitchen!

Tomorrow I get to share one of my favorite crafts I've ever done! I'll leave you with a little hint…lemons are involved! Until then shop my favorite agate stone pieces. I am a sucker for a good agate stone coaster set!
