Five Items that Describe Me

4:00:00 AM

In past posts, I've tried to stress the importance of having things that represent your personality. Today, I wanted to share five items that describe mine. It's sooo tough when you have a house full of things to narrow it down to five, but I did it!

Waterford Ring Holder // This one is kind of a given, but there is a beautiful story about this item. In my sorority, we have something like a temp big given to us on Bid Day. Mine is one of my really good friends. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and was there for one of the biggest days of my life. One of the traditions our sorority has is, the temp big gives the new member a pin box and the bride a ring holder. So, on the day before the wedding at the bridal luncheon, she gave me this stunning Waterford ring holder. It brings me such joy to see it every morning and I always think of the special bond I share with her.

Texas Pillow // I am a Texas girl through and through, but currently living in Tennessee. My mother gave me this stunning pillow from Swoozie's for an engagement present, because she knew I needed a little bit of Texas in my Tennessee home. I love the colors, the hand stitching, and the amazing memories the places on the pillow bring up. I love that Lone Star State and those bluebonnets. They mean the world to me, because Texas is my home. Tyler and I want to collect these pillows from the states we live in and the places we have the pleasure of traveling to. Next one we need to get is Tennessee, obviously, and Italy.

Inslee Prints // When I happened upon this incredible artist scrolling through Instagram, I fell in love the dreamy feel of her prints. Inslee is an ahhh-mazing artist and if I could own all of her work, I would. I think collectively I have 14 prints of hers so far and they are the decoration for my kitchen, office, and guest room. In March, Tyler and I visited NYC. We were shopping in SoHo and he said we needed to hit Spring Street, because he had a surprise. He actually was able to set up a meet and greet with Inslee in her studio in SoHo. I met her, her darling doxie Ophelia and got to get a print straight from her. Let's just say it was such a cool opportunity. She's amazing and I adore her work. I cannot wait to get the calendar for Christmas again this year.

Monogrammed Towels // Since I have very classic tastes and I married a Southern boy, monogrammed towels are an absolute must in my house. I love how chic they look. The monogram is such an easy way to make anything more personal in the house. Not only are they my favorite type of monogram, but they are blue and white. I maybe, possibly, sorta have an obsession with blue and white. I love it all. It's such a classic color combo and can be seen in almost every room through out my house. I just can't help how much I love it!

Leopard Plates // As an avid believer in leopard is a neutral, the print has a dominance in my home. Ever since I was a little girl, I have been a lover of all things leopard. It has such a natural looking print, but is not too wild or in your face. I'm all about the muted prints that spice up a room. These leopard plates were from Pottery Barn, but they unfortunately sold out so fast! I was able to snag 8 thankfully and they looked fantastic on my Thanksgiving table. I also got the matching napkins that are one of my favorite things to use daily. The stunning leopard print is always going to be my favorite print ever and I love using it as a neutral in almost every room.

Now that you know a little more about me, you can see where my design style stems from. I really love personal touches in a home and I want to keep encouraging that for everyone's homes.
