Fun Ways to Decorate the Master

4:00:00 AM

I LOVE my master bedroom. It makes me so happy to look at all the little things around the room and see the cute items I've picked up for us. Like I always say, I love personal details that scream me and my husband.

Wooden Monogram // Since we live in Tennessee and got married almost a year ago, I knew I wanted to incorporate my married monogram into our room. I found this darling local shop that makes them and I knew I had to go with them. I'm positive Etsy has a lot of different varieties as well. I picked the "plantation" style, because I love the shape and the vine monogram in the middle. I had it painted by them only because I did not want to have to hand paint it myself. Another way to do it, is get wooden letters at a Hobby Lobby or Michael's and make it with individual letters. It's the centerpiece to our master and makes a really lovely statement don't ya think?

Favorite Pictures // When we got married I really fell in love with our wedding pictures. They bring about such amazing memories and I wanted to incorporate them in a big way. I used Shutterfly to make the large 16 x 20 prints, because they have the best prices. I got these two for a great price and the quality is beautiful. I scored the two frames at a buy one get one free sale at Michael's. It's the best time to buy all the frames you need! I wanted a simple black from so the focus is on the pictures. After that, all we did is use a level and made them hang nicely next to the monogram.

Little Trinkets // Tyler and I both have a bedside table that holds all kinds of stuff. Mine is decorated with the book I'm currently reading, a catch-all tray, and a chest with the "Keys to Success" people wrote for us at our wedding. On the other side, Tyler has a leather coaster ( he cannot stand not using a coaster), an adorable owl bust, and his car magazines. He is extremely neat and I tend to have some cups all over my table. I love adding little things, since it is a smaller table, that show our distinct sides. We have a Flea Market game we play and sometimes those finds end up as little trinkets in our room too.

Patterned Chair // One of Tyler's favorite spots in our room is the chair in the corner. In the mornings, he waits in that chair for me to finish getting ready for work and reads the Twittersphere. He can easily talk to me and keep me company whenever I am getting ready. A cute patterned chair is also a great place for a reading nook or a place for putting on shoes. I have a monogrammed blanket over the back of it to add a little personal touch to it. I got the chair for less than $120 at Kirkland's. Make sure to use their app if shopping there to get special coupons to shop! Near the chair, Tyler has his shoe shining stand and it makes it easy for him to finish getting ready himself. Kirkland's has a great selection of different patterned chairs to choose from!

I love my master bedroom and I love adding fun things to make it more perfect. I am excited it's September, because soon I can pull out my FAV leopard bedspread! This year has just flown by!
