Bright Ideas

4:00:00 AM

I have been a little MIA for the past couple days. A lot of stress, happy memories, and worry filled my entire week. My mother in law had brain surgery last Wednesday and I flew to OKC to celebrate my best friend's engagement! I just wanted to make a list of the bright ideas I've been playing with recently!!

White Christmas Tree // Recently during a trip to Target, I had an epiphany. I want to have a girly Christmas tree! Sorry Hubby! I want to get a white tree to put into my office at home. I want to use pastel colors, whimsical ornaments, and macrons! It's so me I can hardly wait to make it happen! I will for sure share once I get it up and ready to go!! Stay tuned!

Engagement Party Bliss // My best friend is engaged! Her lovely fiancé asked her to marry him on Saturday and then drove her to OKC for a surprise party with all their friends and family. He asked me to plan a party for her and of course I'd do anything to make her day special! I planned the party from TN and made sure everything was just perfect! I will be sharing my party planning magic later of this week on the blog. Trust me, magic is an understatement when you see the space I had to work with!

Family Time // My mother-in-law recently had brain surgery and my husband was so worried about her. He is a quiet soul, so when I saw him freaking out inside, I knew family time was in order. We drove to Knoxville to visit her and she was so happy to see her son. I am not very good with medical things, especially hospitals, but I finally had the opportunity to be my husband's rock. I kept him together when he just wanted to fall apart. I think it made us stronger and I am so thankful she is doing amazing after the surgery. Just remember, family is so important and make sure you tell them you love them every chance you get.

Painting a House Headache // The entire house is painted to my liking and everything looks amazing, except one room. The bonus room. It's the biggest, tallest, most complicated room of the house! My family is coming to my house in less than 2 weeks and I want that room painted! I would LOVE to just hire a professional to help us, but I know I could just do it myself. Such a minor dilemma in the grand scheme of things, I know, but I really want it painted!

Anyways, hope everyone has a great Monday! I cannot wait to see most of these bright ideas come alive! I want to make the Christmas tree come alive so bad! Stay tuned this week for a really fun engagement party recap!

  10. Wow, so much going on! I'll be sending some good vibes to you and your husband's family! And I can't wait to see your Christmas tree :) My mom recently gave my husband and I her older tree when she got a new one and since that means we have two now I'm trying to get him to help me put it up in my dressing room so I can have a Lilly Pulitzer tree :)

  20. I have a girly Christmas tree and I have no shame. It's a little 3 or 4 foot green tree that I fill with Lilly Pulitzer shift dress ornaments and I love it! I can't wait to see how yours turns out!
