Engagement Bliss

4:00:00 AM

Earlier this week I mentioned I flew out to OKC to throw an engagement party for my bestie. I got to be a part of an important day in her life, see my momma, and plan a really fun party!

Here's a little backstory on this party...I hosted this party along with my friend's fiancé's parents. I'll put it to you this way, they are extremely excited and enthusiastic about the engagement! His mom wanted everything to be perfect and made sure she knew I knew it had to be out of the world. She's the sweetest lady ever and I totally didn't mind going out of the way to make it extremely wonderful for them.

Ok, now that that piece of info is out of the way, we had the party at their church two doors away from their house. When I tell you this church is straight out of Europe, I really mean it. It was stunning, but the room was shocking to me. I walked in the GIANT room and I thought I was done for. I didn't have decorations to fill a massssssivvee room. I felt horrible and like I was going to let everyone down. My hubby and mom came to the rescue and we fixed up the room and made it magic. She had two wishes, she wanted a color scheme of blues, purples and pops of silver and a tassel garland! So I think I delivered!

For the invitation, I used Paperless Post and did the email version and printed paper copies for her family.

I grabbed the flowers at the local Whole Foods, because they have fabulous little mini bouquets.

The tables were a horrible color and they were very large... I grabbed white table cloths and knew I had to decorate with confetti around the table to add a little umph to each table. I loved the color of the flowers and I intermingled pink bouquets and white ones.

On each table, I added a little engagement party themed favor. My husband made the stickers that read "Derek Popped the Question" and we put them on bags of the bride-to-be's favorite kind of popcorn.

Aren't they darling!? I think he did a lovely job and they were a massive hit!

On the dessert table, I wanted to add a fun touch to the table. I found these darling napkins at The Knot Shop. They were on sale and really looked fantastic!

The tassel garland looked ahh-mazing and she totally loved it! It was exactly as she wanted it, but it kept falling! EEK! I got the garland and the confetti on Etsy at Shoppe3130. I got to pick all the colors out and the price was awesome!

I also wanted to include a really fun wedding planning gift basket! I included the essentials like wedding magazines, The Knot Wedding Binder, The Knot Book of Lists, an adorable wine glass, her favorite candy, a relaxing candle, and a card! It was the perfect all in one gift I could find!

I ended up making a gift table to help with the ridiculous amount of tables this great room had. I grabbed twine, painted some clothes pins, added glitter, and hung up some of their pictures. The personal touch was a really special part of the party and my friends really loved it!

I really loved throwing the engagement party for my best friend! After the party we hit the town and celebrated their engagement! It was such a fun night and I'm sooo glad I was able to be there for them!
