Cookie Exchange Party

4:00:00 AM

This weekend I finally got to check something off my party bucket list...A Cookie Exchange! I wanted to have a little twist on the traditional party. Did you know, one of the "rules" for a cookie exchange is you aren't allowed to eat the cookies at the party?! Like WHY NOT!? To be honest, that is what I was looking forward to most! I love cookies and throwing parties so it's perfect for me!

I made my signature homemade chocolate chip cookies with red sprinkles and little spritzer cookies. They were so yummy and I have way too many still left over. For presentation purposes, I bought adorable Christmas platters at Home Goods, mostly so I didn't break the bank! All the ladies who came over brought their own platters, but you really can do whatever you want. I also served a dinner of my momma's favorite ziti. I find it important to serve a meal whenever there are sweets. Can't have too much sugar now!

For the table settings, I made sure to keep the cookie theme going through out every room. I had a couple crystal bud vases which I put one bunch of hydrangeas in each. In the middle, I arranged green carnations in a square vase and placed that on top of a darling little Christmas colored cake stand. The table settings were my favorite. I had white polka dot placemats, a mix of red and brown chargers, and a darling little cookie plate! I found these Cookies for Santa plates in the dollar section of Target! I thought they added the cutest flair to the whole party. One of the most important parts of the entire place setting were the little gifts at each place setting. Everyone had a tin that they could take home cookies in, a Christmas tree cookie cutter, and a little ornament. I wanted the guests to feel special and I hope they did!

I really had such a fun time and I think the party turned out quite nicely! The company was good, the cookies were amazing and I got to plan another party! What could be more fun!?

Have y'all ever been to a cookie party?

  13. I still can't get over this great place I recently visited! This isn't only a good place. It is also one of the best around here. There isn't a listing of the unique offerings, although there should be! This event space Chicago was magnificent!
