Valentine's Sweets

4:00:00 AM

Along with cocktails, treats are just as an important part of the holiday! The word that is synonymous with Valentine's Day is chocolate! I've baked and tasted all of these sweets recipes myself, so I promise they are easy to follow along. I'm no Top Chef, so if I can do it, you can do it too!

Cake Pops

These are a total must and extremely delicious. I made these this past weekend and I'll give you my tips on the recipe. I struggled a little with getting the balls to stick on the lollipop stick. I don't know if they were too dense or not frozen enough, but make sure they are frozen before dipping into the chocolate. Also use parchment paper so the cake pops don't stick to the cookie sheet.

Chocolate Dipped Fortune Cookies

This one is a darling little treat. What a cute way to spice up a traditional fortune cookie! The best advice I can give, make sure to put a small spoonful of crisco in the chocolate. It helps keep the chocolate from clumping and burning! To add even more fun to the cookie, add Valentine theme sprinkles! They make everything cuter.

Valentine Popcorn

One of my favorite ways to eat popcorn is with chocolate chips in it! A fun way to make popcorn Valentine themed is to add chocolate drizzles over the popcorn and add conversation hearts! The candy adds a unique flavor to the buttery popcorn and the chocolate is the cherry on top. You can even throw in some sprinkles or M&M's!

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

The most classic Valentine's sweet of all and my personal favorite! My #1 tip after making these hundreds of times is make sure the strawberries are completely dry before dripping the berries in chocolate. If they aren't dry, then the chocolate will not stick and look terrible. You could also use raspberries as an alternative to strawberries. They are both equally as delicious!

Strawberry Shortcake

Also another classic sweet! The best way to make shortcake is to let the strawberry mix stew as long as possible. The sugar and water is the important piece to the strawberry mix, so make sure there is enough sugar and also not too much at the same time! It's all about taste and feel when it comes to how much to use.

I hope you enjoy these recipes! They are my tried and true recipes to celebrate Valentine's Day and make my husband smile! He loves them!

Which one is your favorite?
