Taylor's Bridal Shower

4:00:00 AM

Just about a month ago, I had the amazing opportunity to host a bridal shower for my best friend Taylor. The bridesmaids and I worked so hard to create a really beautiful shower that was perfectly her. Each of us had a part in the day and I'd say we pulled them off beautifully!

We hosted the shower in the afternoon so we served a variety of salads and finger sandwiches. Taylor's family was incredible y'all. They made and cooked and prepared all the food for the shower and it was delicious! For an afternoon shower in the Texas summer, we served: Pasta Salad, Potato Salad, Fruit Salad, Macaroni Salad, and a variety of deli sandwiches. I suggest keeping the menu light if you're having an afternoon shower, since lunch is normally not a heavy meal. For dessert, we had a lemon bundt cake for cutting and cupcakes! Everything was extraordinary! Make sure to have a dessert for the bride to cut at the shower. This is one of those customary things that is so much fun to do. For drinks we had a really fabulous Mimosa Bar. These ladies thought of everything. There were 6 different juices to choose from and berries to add to your drinks. Delicious and a pinnacle of the entire shower!

For flowers, Hilary and I wanted to create a bunch of cute bouquets that could be scattered through out the house. We chose to use carnations as our main flower and used a bunch of other beautiful summer blooms. On the dining table, we used old Coke Bottles as vases. These added a cute bit of character to the table, which I loved! All of the flowers were bright, cheery, and very summery.

The bridesmaids, Lexi and Julia, in charge of games really knocked it out of the park! First off we played a game called "How Many Kisses". They filled a vase with Hershey Kisses and had everybody guess how many were in the vase. The winner won a gift card to one of Taylor's favorite restaurants and the second place won bath bombs! The second game (and my personal favorite) was called "Save the Date". This one we had to guess the day, month, and year of Taylor and Derek's important dates throughout their relationship. I won this game actually, but hey! She's my best friend, I know all her important dates! I actually won a gift card to Starbucks and I was thrilled. The last game we played was hysterical. The ladies called Taylor and asked her words and she had to give her first thought. The guests had to guess what she said to each word or phrase! It was so hard, but so so funny. The games were such a hit and so much fun. I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend our afternoon.

The favors were absolutely darling. Kylie created little favors that were perfectly suited for the overall garden theme of the shower. The favors were little Butterfly Gardens. Each guest took home a glass jar filled with soil and seeds. Once you got home all you had to do is plant and watch the flowers grow. What a creative and cute idea!

Overall the shower was a huge success! Everyone had a great time and the company was so fun. Can't wait for the wedding in October!
