Fall in Love with France

4:00:00 AM

Happy fall y'all! I have been DYING to say that since the end of winter. What can I say?? I am a huge fall fan! Today I have a really fun fall tablescape that I created with The French Ministry of Agriculture. It is the perfect way to kick off the fall season, if I do say so myself!

For this lovely French country table, I wanted to do a mix of "fallish" colors and motifs. I used my favorite pumpkin plates and matched them with the country chic dinner plates and then added a neutral checked napkin. I love the pop of the gold against the rather neutral colored place setting. For a water glass, I thought it would be fun to use copper mule mugs. Why not right? To finish off the look, I added a gorgeous blue goblet that served as the wine glass. The arrangement in the center of the table was super easy to make and totally recreate able! I grabbed some pumpkins at a local pumpkin patch and mixed colors, textures, and sizes. Add in some fun votives and voila you have a perfect French country inspired table that will sure to impress your guests!

The food and wine served at a party truly is the most important part of the whole party. The table sets the scene, but the food and wine are what is remembered the most! If you know me well, you know I have a major obsession with France and all of their delicious food. In college I studied French food and wine as part of my major and I truly fell head over heels in love when I visited in the fall of 2012. I wanted to share my top picks for the Fall with all y'all to enjoy with me! For wines,  I always lean towards Mas de Daumas Gassac and Les Vignobles Andre Lurton (Chateau Bonnet). These two brands of wine are seriously outstanding options and affordable to all budgets. The Mas de Daumas Gassac white and rose come from Languedoc region and are perfect pairings with fruit. The Chateau Bonnet white is divine to say the least and pairs perfectly with pretty much any appetizer, shellfish, or my personal favorite cheese! The Chateau Bonnet red was my husband's favorite. He loved it paired with all the red meats. His personal favorite combo. Ha!

Now for my favorite part of this Fall party, dessert! I whipped up a new found speciality with a little help from my favorite French foods. I always love using President Unsalted Butter, especially in my favorite Pumpkin Chocolate Bread. This butter went perfectly in my bread and turned out just utterly divine. To really amp up the volume in the bread, I chopped up some of the Valhorna Dulcy 32 Baking Bar and added it to the bread dough. The creaminess of the chocolate mixed absolutely perfectly with the pumpkin, spice, and cinnamon flavors of the bread. From now on, I will absolutely use this chocolate in all of my pumpkin breads. Dulcy is a 4th color of chocolate which really stands out because of its delicious creamy texture, the blond color, and the perfect balance of sweetness. Tyler and I are now major fans of this chocolate, since we had the opportunity to try it! Delicious is not a strong enough word to describe it!

For the appetizer portion of the evening, I made a super simple, but really yummy appetizer. I grabbed pita chips and a wheel of Istara P'Tit Basque. The cheese is a sheep's milk cheese, which sets it apart to me from any other cheese I eat. I loved the sweet flavor mixed with a nutty finish. The cheese is so versatile, which as a 25 year old dinner party enthusiast makes my life super easy. The Istara P'Tit Basque cheese makes a fab appetizer with some fancy (or even not fancy so fancy} crackers or taken up a notch paired with grilled veggies. Whatever you do with this cheese, it will be a massive crowd pleaser!

I hope you enjoyed this fun French themed blog post. I know I love France, so sharing my favorite French foods and wine is such a joy for me. And topped off with a fun French country chic dinner party, I literally couldn't pick a better blog post for me! So happy fall everyone! I hope you enjoy as much as I do! Tomorrow, I will share my pumpkin chocolate chip bread recipe, so stay tuned for that goodie!!
